Kim Delaney, an American actor best known for her role as detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series, for which she received an Emmy Award. Also, she is known for her performances in the drama series All My Children Philly CSI: Miami as well as Army Wives. Born as the only daughter of a high-ranking executive in the United Auto Workers and a homemaker Delaney had a family of four brothers. When she was a little girl, Delaney hoped to become a reporter for the court. In highschool her modeling career began when she was able to model commercials, she moved to New York. Her first role as an actor came when she was a young, innocent girl in the 1981 soap opera All My Children. Delaney was in numerous of television shows, films and dramas after that. Contrary to her successful professional life, Delaney's personal life is not happy and prosperous. She is talented and stunning, has had to battle alcoholism in the past. She has also had marriages that ended in failure twice. In 2005, she lost custody of her son.
